Planning, packing, and the 4th

Happy 4th of July! We are spending the day cleaning, organizing, packing, and staying inside (Hello, crazy hot weather).

We are taking off early tomorrow morning for Bob's uncle and aunt's cottage up north. This is an annual trip that for the last 2 years we have not been able to go because I was either taking care of a newborn or way too pregnant.

Last year, we were at home feeling so bored that we decided to drive the 3.5 hours to just spend the day up there with our family. (It was well worth the trip.)

There is nothing like spending gorgeous summer days in northern Michigan. We are pretty lucky to have several locations that we get to visit.

It is going to be a fun weekend filled with amazing unbelievable food, swimming, beach volleyball, walks, and campfires. The kids are going to be in heaven.

We look forward to this weekend every year and can't wait to share it with the kids.
