It was freezing, but we made it. First family vacation with Maisie a success. |
We successfully went on our first family vacation as a family of four. We backed up Thursday night and headed up to the Michigan Upper Peninsula Friday morning after breakfast. We took our time stopped twice and made it up there in about 7 hours. Calan traveled pretty well and Maisie was a champ.
It was pretty cold all weekend, but we made do. I was even able to go out to dinner one night with my mom for some girl time and one night for a much needed date night with my husband.
Here are a few highlights:
After a 7-hour trip, a little golf was needed. |
Having fun at Art on the Lake. |
Getting to taste an elephant ear. |
Exploring Papa Bill's fish. My step-dad raises angel fish and discus fish. Kids find all his tanks pretty cool. |
Even though it was cold, Calan enjoys a little ice cream. Bob and I got coffee. |
Exploring Seney National Wildlife Refuge's visitor center. |
Enjoying Scottish eggs and a little beer at Dune's in Grand Marais, a favorite of Bob's. |
Getting ready to head home. |
So hard to leave when it is so beautiful out. |
